Turn Acrobat PDF web browser integration OFF

The following instructions are for use with the Adobe Acrobat 4, 5 and 6. If you are using another .pdf generating software or a different version of Adobe Acrobat, please refer to the appropriate documentation or web site for detailed information they may have provided on this topic.

Adobe Acrobat 4 -

  • From within acrobat, choose FILE, PREFERENCES, GENERAL
  • From PREFERENCES uncheck the box below the Options section for "Web Browser Integration"
  • Click OK

Adobe Acrobat 5 -

  • From within acrobat, choose EDIT, PREFERENCES, GENERAL
  • From PREFERENCES choose OPTIONS from the choices on the left
  • At the OPTIONS screen, uncheck the box for "Display PDF in Browser" from the Web Browsers Options section
  • Click OK

Adobe Acrobat 6 -

  • From within acrobat, choose EDIT, PREFERENCES, INTERNET
  • From the INTERNET screen, uncheck the box for "Display PDF in Browser".
  • Click OK
