Electronic Filing for Creditors

Creditor E-Filing Information

  • Attorneys and institutional creditors may obtain limited use CM/ECF E-Filing privileges if they have filing experience in other Bankruptcy Courts or after receiving training from this Court.
  • The limited use filing allows you to file requests for notice, reaffirmation agreements, transfer of claims, proof of claims, etc.
  • As a limited use filer you will not receive email notice and cannot provide service through CM/ECF.
  • Creditors who do not qualify for E-Filing accounts must file all documents with the Clerk’s Office and they must contain an original signature.

Obtaining E-Filing Privileges

You must obtain a PACER account, as noted under the NextGen CM/ECF link, before you can request E-Filing privileges.

In the District of Alaska, Creditors cannot link their PACER account with existing CM/ECF accounts. All providers must request new access directly from their PACER account.  (Note - other NextGen courts may allow linking to existing E-Filing accounts, so refer to that Court’s procedures for NextGen accounts.)

  • Go to www.pacer.gov and log into your PACER account under the Manage My Account link.
  • Go to the Maintenance tab and click on the Non-Attorney E-File Registration link.
  • From the drop downs select Court Type - U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, Court - Alaska Bankruptcy Court, and Role in Court - Creditor.
  • Review the information presented to you before proceeding. Note that as a limited filer you will not receive email service but you must complete the delivery method in order to submit the request.

Proceed through all of the screens and submit the request. You will receive an email once the request has been processed. Information will be provided if the request is rejected.  Your PACER username and password will be your E-Filing username and password once the request has been approved.
